At a Reformation event honoring Martin Luther’s legacy, Rev. John Shadrack Donkoh, President and Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana, passionately condemned self-proclaimed prophets exploiting their followers.
Speaking at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Rev. Donkoh highlighted shocking incidents, including a tragic Ugandan case where hundreds lost their lives after being convinced to donate everything.
He denounced practices where pastors misuse influence for personal gain, offering false promises and engaging in unethical activities.
“These actions undermine the true Christian message of salvation, peace, and forgiveness freely given by Jesus,” he emphasized.
Echoing Martin Luther’s call to restore genuine Christian teachings, Rev. Donkoh urged Christians to live out their faith sincerely and reject those exploiting religious trust for personal gain.
His powerful message served as a timely reminder to prioritize authenticity and integrity in faith.
