Fire Service sends SOS message to Ghanaians [Listen]

-

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has appealed to individuals and corporate entities to provide the necessary resources to enable it to effectively and efficiently execute its mandate.

Assistant Division Officer (ADO1) Alex King Nartey from the Public Affairs Department of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) emphasized the severe constraints the service faces during an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen.

According to him, the service cannot embark on public campaigns to solicit funds and other support. However, he noted that it would not be out of place for citizens to support their work by adopting a fire station or a tender.

“It is a government agency, so people expect that resources must be provided by the government, but what we encourage people to do is to adopt a fire station and tender.

People sponsor the police, and we would expect that they extend the same support to us because when there is a fire outbreak, it is firefighters who rush to the scene,” he appealed.
