My opponent jubilated over my accident – Jomoro MP

-

Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, claims that some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) celebrated the ghastly accident she was involved in this past August.

According to her, the group was led by the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate, Paul Essien.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Madam Affo-Toffey alleged that Mr. Essien and his supporters even wished her dead so a by-election could take place.

However, she stated that God, through His infinite mercies and the good work she is doing, saved her life and the lives of her entourage.

“God will not just cut my life short because I am even yet to begin the work. My opponents were looking for every possible way to discredit me, so they came up with stories that I was not in the vehicle.

“It was very sad because if he can’t call me to wish me a speedy recovery, I don’t know why he would fabricate stories,” she bemoaned.

The lawmaker and her entourage narrowly escaped a serious accident at Komenda Junction on the Takoradi-Cape Coast-Accra Highway on Thursday.

The accident occurred when the team was returning to Accra after launching her campaign at Half Assini.

The lawmaker was referred to the U.S. for further medical treatment and returned on October 24.
