The Judicial Service of Ghana(JUSAG) on Thursday, 31st October 2024 unveiled the fifth edition of its Election Adjudication Manual in preparation for the upcoming December 7 presidential and parliamentary election.
This comprehensive manual is a vital resource, compiling all relevant constitutional provisions, statutory and subsidiary legislation, as well as special procedural rules governing the conduct of elections.
This updated manual is designed to serve as a comprehensive guide.
Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, who officiated the launch, emphasised the importance of fair electoral dispute resolution by the Judiciary, stating that it is essential for maintaining electoral integrity.
Justice Paul Baffoe Bonnie, Chairperson of the Election Manual Review Committee, highlighted that the updated edition is organised into three volumes to enhance clarity and accessibility for users.
Also present were Mrs Efua Ghartey, president-elect of the Ghana Bar Association(GBA), Yaw Oppong, Director of Ghana School of Law, Supreme Court Judge, Justice Yonny Kulendi, Member of Parliament for Zebilla, Cletus Avoka ,Deputy Electoral Commission(EC) Chairman in charge of Corporate Services; Bossman Asare, the Deputy EC Chairman in charge of Operations; Samuel Tettey, Nene Tetteh Wakah III; Paramount Chief of Prampram, members of JUSAG, the clergy, among others.
