The presidential candidate for the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, has announced ambitious initiatives to support Ghanaian citizens if elected on December 7.
He promises a monthly allowance of GHC500 for children under 18 and GHC700 for unemployed adults.
In an interview on Channel One TV, Mr. Akpaloo emphasized his commitment to easing financial burdens.
“When they vote for me, I’m going to put money directly into people’s pockets,” he said. “Every child in Ghana below the age of 18 will receive a monthly child benefit of GHC500. For those above 18 who are unemployed, we’ll provide income support of GHC700.”
Additionally, Mr. Akpaloo intends to amend the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) law to offer unemployment benefits for those who lose their jobs, creating a financial safety net for workers.
