Bawumia has been faithful to me; I can’t say anything bad about him – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo has expressed his unwavering support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stating that his vice president has been a loyal and capable partner throughout their years in office.

Speaking on October 29 during his tour of the Ahafo Region, Akufo-Addo highlighted Bawumia’s steadfastness and dedication since they began working together in 2008, saying, “I can’t say one wrong thing about Dr. Bawumia.”

President Akufo-Addo further emphasized his commitment to Ghana’s progress, remarking that Dr. Bawumia is the right person to lead the nation forward.

He expressed confidence in Bawumia’s vision and capabilities, which he believes are essential for advancing Ghana’s development.

The president also compared Dr. Bawumia’s leadership potential to that of the opposition candidate, former President John Dramani Mahama, suggesting that Mahama’s previous term from 2012 to 2016 lacked the transformative vision Ghana now requires.

President Akufo-Addo asserted that Mahama cannot drive the nation’s development as effectively as Bawumia can.

Addressing the people of Ahafo, he urged them to strongly support Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming election, encouraging them to vote massively in favor of the vice president’s vision to ensure continued progress for the country.

“I can vouch for his capabilities and his ability to lead the country, and I will not leave Ghana for someone who can’t do the job. God will not allow that to happen.”

“Dr. Bawumia was the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana when I brought him into politics. When I first picked him in 2008, even though we lost the polls, I kept faith with him and kept him for the 2012 election, which we also lost. But, God being so good, we won the 2016 election, and I have not seen any bad thing from him since I first met him,” he stated.
