The police have announced an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred during political campaign activities in the Agona West Constituency.
The incident took place on the evening of Sunday, October 27, injuring four people.
In a statement, the police said that two of the injured have been treated and discharged, while the other two remain hospitalized.
Reports indicate that supporters of the Agona West NPP parliamentary candidate, Chris Arthur, and incumbent MP Cynthia Morrison, who is running as an independent candidate, encountered each other while campaigning in the same area.
Tensions flared, leading to a confrontation and an alleged shooting targeting Cynthia Morrison.
Haruna Rashid, the Agona West NPP Constituency Nasara Coordinator, also sustained a gunshot wound in the incident.
