A Zimbabwean man left a courtroom stunned after admitting he had been urinating and defecating in his bedroom to protest his wife’s alleged denial of conjugal rights.
The unusual case came to light when Maclaren Nduri shared his frustration with the court, claiming his wife, Berita Mutero, had refused intimacy since she started working in Mbare—a change he suspects is linked to her alleged involvement with another man.
Nduri’s actions, which he described as retaliation for what he perceives as his wife’s neglect, took a disturbing turn as Mutero disclosed additional allegations.
According to her, Nduri has not only been defecating in their bedroom but has also assaulted her and even resorted to burning her clothes in fits of rage over her rejection.
“I am tired of my husband’s behavior,” Mutero told the court, further noting that he sometimes uses a bucket to relieve himself and leaves it in the room for days.
The Magistrate presiding over the case, recommended that the couple seek professional marital counseling to address their issues.
