A 12-year-old boy has allegedly robbed and killed his landlady at Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State. According to the boy, he committed the act because a cult group told him that one of the conditions for initiation was that he must have been involved in a criminal act.
The teenage was among suspects paraded yesterday for various offences by the state Police Command.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, Zanna Mohammed, told reporters that over 60 kidnappers, robbers, murderers, cultists and ritualists have been arrested in the last three weeks.
He said that the teenager confessed that he committed the act because a cult group told him that one of the conditions for initiation was that he must have been involved in a criminal act.
Ibrahim further disclosed that one of the kidnap suspects, Sa’adu Alhaji, a national of Niger Republic, residing at Okpanma community, Oshimili North Local Government Area, was arrested by the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad, SAKCCS, in conjunction with men of Eagle Vigilante groups of Abraka Market, Asaba, over his complicity in most kidnap cases within Asaba and its environs.
According to him, the suspect was connected to the kidnapping syndicates operated by suspected herdsmen and an ally of Musa Mohammed, alias Musa 1000, earlier arrested by the police.
