I’ll establish mechanisation centres in every district to boost agriculture – Bawumia

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has announced plans to revolutionise Ghana’s agricultural sector by establishing district mechanisation centres in all districts nationwide.

According to him, this initiative would be a key priority of his administration if elected in the upcoming December 7 polls.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Juapong, Volta Region, he highlighted his commitment to providing farmers with essential support and resources to enhance their productivity.

Bawumia stressed that agriculture is the backbone of Ghana’s economy and plays a vital role in the livelihoods of millions.

He also underscored the need for improved irrigation systems, particularly in regions vulnerable to drought and unpredictable rainfall.

Bawumia vowed to invest in irrigation infrastructure to ensure year-round farming, irrespective of seasonal weather patterns.

“We are going to support our farmers. I want to prioritize agriculture. Farmers need irrigation, equipment, tractors, combined harvesters, and planters. My administration will establish district mechanization centres across the country, ensuring that farmers have access to the tools they need to succeed,” Bawumia said.
