Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, says he would be surprised if Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, disregards the Supreme Court’s ruling on the four vacant parliamentary seats.
In an interview on Citi FM on Monday, October 21, Mr. Blay said the authority to interpret Ghana’s laws lies with the Supreme Court.
He added that he expects Parliament, especially Speaker Bagbin, to respect the decision of the country’s apex court.
Mr. Blay stressed the importance of upholding the rule of law and ensuring that judicial rulings, particularly those from the highest court, are respected.
