A 17-year-old boy has allegedly committed suicide in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality of the Western Region.
The deceased has been identified as Godfred Nyame, a pupil of Alhaji Mustapha Islamic Junior High School (JHS) at Aboso.
Godfred was found hanging dead from a ceiling fan in his uniform in an uncompleted church building near his school.
Some church members who were at the church on Friday morning for devotion discovered the lifeless body.
Family members in an interview with Adom News said they are still in shock and yet to recover from the unfortunate incident.
Godfred’s father, Isaac Bennett said he is a shy and calm person admired by many people in the community.
However, he revealed Godfred left a note behind written in Fante, indicating he has been wrongly accused of a crime.
Mr Bennet said the mother threatened to report him to his teachers for stealing her GH₵ 200 and suspect that might have triggered his action.
Mr. Bennett said the note has been handed over to the Police for further investigations with the entire community thrown into mourning.
