The 2024/2025 Malta Guinness Ghana Women’s Premier League season has been launched ahead of its commencement this weekend.
The launch took place at the Conference Room of the Ghana Football Association(GFA) on Tuesday.
Speaking at the event, the Marketing Manager for Malta Guinness, Dinah Asabea Darko emphasized the brand’s commitment to “energize, empower, elevate, and positively promote women’s football.”
This initiative marks Malta Guinness’s third consecutive year partnering with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), underscoring their significant contribution to the growth of women’s football.
Madam Darko announced the introduction of special cash awards for the best players in both the Southern and Northern divisions this season.
The best player in the Southern and Northern Zones will receive 10,000 cedis each while the best coach also takes home 10,000 cedis.
This she explained was aimed at recognizing and rewarding the dedication of players and coaches who contribute to the league’s development.
“We believe that by celebrating outstanding performance, we can inspire further commitment within the sport,” she stated.
Malta Guinness is dedicated to fostering a “Can-Do” world, striving to nourish and energize individuals to achieve their aspirations while promoting equal opportunities for women and enhancing their representation in business and society.
She congratulated Hasaacas Ladies for their well-deserved victory in the 2023/2024 season.
Also, Dr. Gifty Oware, an Executive Committee member and women’s representative on the GFA, noted the Association’s ongoing efforts to support women’s football.
Dr. Gifty highlighted the positive impact Malta Guinness’s partnership has had since it began in October 2022.
The event was attended by GFA representatives, team members, and other stakeholders, further showcasing the collective commitment to advancing women’s football in Ghana.
The new Malta Guinness Ghana Women’s Premier League season will commence on Friday, October 18, 2024.
