2025 AFCONQ: We can win against Sudan if … – Ghana coach Otto Addo

-

Black Stars coach, Otto Addo is optimistic about his team’s chances as they prepare to face Sudan later today.

After a goalless score in the first leg against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium last week Thursday, Ghana will play the Falcons at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya in the return leg in the matchday four games of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The senior national team are still searching for their first win after three games, having drawn two and lost one, placing them third in Group F.

“I was very satisfied with the training. I think the boys adapted well. They are all ready and willing to put the last result behind them,” the 45-year-old coach said in an interview with the GFA Media team.

Addo acknowledged the team’s struggles in front of goal but expressed confidence in securing a victory against the Falcons of Jediane.

“It’s obvious that we need goals. We created many chances against Angola; we deserved to win that game. We didn’t perform well against Niger, but I believe we also deserved to win, though luck wasn’t on our side.

“If we play like we did in the last game, we will win,” he added.

A win for Ghana would see them move above Sudan ahead of the final two matches of the qualifiers in November. However, anything less than a win would complicate the Black Stars’ chances of qualifying for the tournament in Morocco.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 13:00 GMT.
