The Black Satellites of Ghana endured a heavy 5-0 defeat to Germany in a friendly match on Monday afternoon.

The game was part of Ghana’s preparations for the upcoming 2024 WAFU Zone B U20 Championship, which serves as a qualifier for the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Germany dominated the encounter from the outset, with Ansah scoring just two minutes into the match. The young German side continued to apply pressure, and Weiper doubled the lead in the 13th minute.

Ansah secured his brace before Bischof added a fourth goal just before halftime, leaving the Black Satellites trailing 4-0 at the break.

Despite several tactical changes by Ghana’s coach, Desmond Ofei, the team struggled to recover in the second half.

Komur sealed the win for Germany with a fifth goal in the 79th minute, completing a comprehensive victory.

The loss follows Ghana’s earlier 2-1 defeat to Switzerland in another friendly match.

The Black Satellites will now return home to continue their preparations for the WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship, which is set to begin on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Togo.
