NPP, NDC supporters clash over posters on DRIP equipment at Enchi

-

Violent clashes have ensued between National Democratic Congress(NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters at Enchi in the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region.

The altercation erupted when NDC supporters reportedly spotted District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) equipment branded with the posters of the NPP Parliamentary candidate, Abanga Yakubu Fuseini.

The NDC supporters became infuriated after sighting the machines at a fuel station at Enchi and decided to also paste their posters.

This led to a physical confrontation with some NDC supporters allegedly pulling machetes.

Clement Kofi Ohene Asare, the aide to the NDC parliamentary candidate and incumbent Aowin MP, Oscar Ofori Larbi, in an interview with Adom News condemned the incident.

Mr Asare however said the NPP had been cautioned not to brand the DRIP machines and therefore cannot fathom why they failed to comply.

Meanwhile, the NPP’s candidate, Abanga Fuseini has said the issue has been reported to the Police for investigation and appropriate action.
