2025 AFCONQ: Black Stars to depart for Libya on Sunday for Sudan clash

-

The Black Stars are set to leave Ghana on Sunday for Libya, where they will face Sudan in the second leg of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The senior national team is continuing its campaign with a doubleheader against the Falcons.

After a challenging start to the qualifiers, the Black Stars aimed to secure their first victory against Sudan but the first leg ended a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, despite dominating the match.

This result has intensified the pressure on head coach Otto Addo and his squad, who currently sit third in Group F with only two points.

To prepare for the crucial second leg on Tuesday, the team will conduct their final training session on Saturday, October 12, at the Accra Sports Stadium before their departure.

Upon arrival in Libya, the Black Stars will hold a mandatory training session at the Martyrs of February Stadium on Monday, ahead of the Matchday four clash on Tuesday afternoon.

Otto Addo and his team must secure a victory against Kwesi Appiah’s side to improve their chances of qualifying for the tournament, which is set to take place in Morocco next year.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 13:00 GMT.
