EC addresses concerns over 2024 ballot paper printing

-

The Electoral Commission (EC) has responded to public concerns regarding the printing of ballot papers for the upcoming 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.

In a statement, the EC assured the general public that the process has not yet commenced and emphasized that transparency remains a top priority.

Contrary to circulating reports, the Commission clarified that it has not yet provided ballot statistics to any stakeholders, as the printing of ballot papers is still pending.

However, the EC confirmed that printing of the Notices of Poll for both Presidential and Parliamentary Elections will begin on Friday, October 11, 2024.

As part of its commitment to transparency, the EC will release ballot statistics to candidates, political parties, and printing houses before starting the actual printing of ballot papers.

This long-standing practice is aimed at ensuring all stakeholders are informed and the electoral process remains credible.

The Commission further urged the public and stakeholders to remain confident in its ability to deliver free, fair, and transparent elections in December 2024.
