2025 AFCONQ: Nuamah starts as Otto Addo names starting XI against Sudan

-

Black Stars coach, Otto Addo has named a solid starting lineup for the first leg of their doubleheader against Sudan, set to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi will retain his position as goalkeeper, with Alexander Djiku and Mohammed Salisu pairing up as the central defenders.

Alidu Seidu will occupy the right-back position, while Gideon Mensah returns to take on the left-back role.

In midfield, Elisha Owusu and Ibrahim Sulemana will serve as the defensive anchors.

Mohammed Kudus, who will captain the team, is set to play in the No. 10 role, with Jordan Ayew, Ernest Nuamah, and Antoine Semenyo spearheading the attack.

The Black Stars are under pressure to secure a win, having suffered a loss to Angola and drew with Niger in their previous qualification matches.

Meanwhile, Sudan will be eager to recover from a 2-1 defeat in their last outing.

Ghana currently sits third in Group F with only one point from two games, making this match crucial for their AFCON qualification hopes.

A loss could significantly hinder Ghana’s chances of advancing in the tournament.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT.
