Convener of Democracy Hub, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, has been rushed to the Police Hospital on Thursday due to serious health concerns.
He has been in Police custody since his arrest on September 23, 2024, during the #StopGalamsey and #OccupyJulorbiHouse protests.
According to a statement from Democracy Hub on Thursday, October 10, medical professionals are currently conducting tests to assess his condition and determine if hospitalization is required.
This marks the second time his health has deteriorated since his detention.
Despite multiple appeals to the Accra High Courts, Mr. Barker-Vormawor remains the only protester out of 53 who has been denied bail.
The other activists were granted bail on October 9, 2024.
Democracy Hub has expressed deep concern over his wellbeing and called for urgent attention to his health needs.
The group has urged the public to keep Mr. Barker-Vormawor in their thoughts and prayers as they await further updates on his condition.
