The Okyehene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Pannin has praised the contribution of the running mate of the NPP, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh that led to the successful implementation of the free Senior High School (SHS) policy which has achieved international recognition.
The Okyehene today October 10 welcomed the running mate of the NPP, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh and his entourage to the Ofori Panin Fie at Kyebi, as he takes his week-long Eastern Regional Tour to the Abuakwa South and Fanteakwa North Constituencies.
In his address, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin praised Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh for the boldness and the courage with which he responded to President Akufo Addo’s call to implement the Free SHS policy, which he said is now recognised and hailed everywhere across the world.
Okyehene added that Dr Opoku Prempeh and the NPP have good plans for the country and that even though chiefs are not allowed to do partisan politics, he will always support the candidate who is doing a good thing.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh on his part recounted how the President discussed the Free SHS policy with him during the election petition, and that if the party had come to power in 2012, the policy would have started, despite the doubt many including some NPP leaders had about its feasibility.
