Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to honour its commitment to releasing the voter’s register to political parties.
This reminder follows the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held last Tuesday, where the EC promised to make the register available by today, October 8, 2024.
Dr. Boamah emphasized that the timely release of the register is essential for ensuring transparency and fairness ahead of the 2024 general elections.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, he highlighted the importance of political parties having sufficient time to verify voter data and rectify any discrepancies before the elections.
He further warned that missing this deadline could fuel unnecessary tension and undermine trust in the electoral process.
Dr. Boamah also urged the EC to maintain clear and open communication with political parties and other key stakeholders to prevent delays and confusion as the country prepares for the December 7 polls.
