I will turn abandoned mining sites to tourist attraction – Obuasi West PC

-

The Independent Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi West Constituency, Kofi Appianin Ennin, has pledged to revitalize the constituency and lead it toward meaningful development if given the mandate in the upcoming elections.

Speaking at the launch of his campaign at the Obuasi AGA Club House, Ennin shared his vision of turning the region’s abandoned mining sites into tourist attractions, which he believes would boost local tourism and create new economic opportunities for residents.

In an interview with Adom News correspondent Isaac K. Normanyo, Ennin noted that Obuasi West has lagged behind in terms of development, despite its potential.

He emphasized the need for change, stating that his track record speaks for itself.

Over the years, he has supported the community by constructing toilet facilities for schools, providing interest-free loans to over 2,000 women, and offering employment opportunities for the youth.

His bold plans to repurpose abandoned mining sites reflect his ambition to steer the constituency in a progressive direction.

Ennin expressed confidence that if the electorate empowers him, he will resolve the leadership crisis that has plagued Obuasi West for years. He believes his leadership will address the long-standing issues and uplift the constituency’s development agenda.

At the event, Edward Ennin, a former Member of Parliament for Obuasi, endorsed Kofi Appianin Ennin’s candidacy.

He recounted his own achievements during his time in office, including the construction of the Obuasi library, Nurses’ quarters, and the Adaase Clinic, which he funded through his common fund.

He also highlighted his personal contributions, such as funding 150 boreholes between 2005 and 2007 and using GHC 60,000 of his own money to pay for school fees when the common fund was delayed.

Edward Ennin concluded by likening Kofi Appianin Ennin to Moses, stating that he is the right leader to rescue Obuasi West and bring about the much-needed change.
