The wife of the Vice-President, Samira Bawumia, has appealed to Ghanaians to vote massively for her husband, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in the December 7 elections for him to put his development plans into action to accelerate the progress of the nation.
She made the appeal when she addressed a mammoth rally at Akyem Oda last weekend to canvass for votes for Dr Bawumia.
Mrs Bawumia stressed that her husband, who was the first-ever Muslim presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was very humble, honest, affable, submissive and hard working.
She urged the electorate not to vote for former President John Mahama for condemning the introduction of the free Senior High School programme and other social interventions by the NPP but which eventually succeeded and brought relief to Ghanaians.
According to her, Dr Bawumia had promised to equip one million youth with digital skills which would help them to secure jobs.
Mrs Bawumia gave the assurance that when voted into power, Dr Bawumia would establish a special bank for women who constituted majority of the population to secure soft loans for the expansion of their businesses.

In response to the MP for Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah’s promise of giving Dr Bawumia 90 per cent presidential votes come December 7, 2024, Mrs Bawumia urged him and his team to intensify their campaigns to increase the votes to 97 per cent.
She appealed to the electorate to retain Mr Akwasi Acquah as their legislator to assist her husband when he was elected as the next President.
She praised the people in the Oda Constituency for voting massively for the NPP since the inception of the fourth republic.
For his part, Akwasi Acquah enjoined the NPP supporters in the area to intensify their campaigns by moving from house to house and all vantage points to ensure a resounding victory for Dr Bawumia and the NPP in the upcoming general election.
The National Women’s Organiser of the NPP, Kate Gyamfua, emphasised that the Nana Akufo-Addo-led NPP government had constructed more roads, schools and hospitals than any other government since the inception of the first republic.
She stressed that the introduction of the Free SHS programme had benefited many homes who could now boast of a lot of educated people.
