2025 AFCONQ: Otto Addo eulogizes Kwesi Appiah ahead of Ghana v Sudan game

-

Black Stars coach, Otto Addo has expressed his deep admiration for former Ghana national team coach Kwesi Appiah ahead of their upcoming encounter in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Appiah, now the head coach of Sudan, will face Ghana in a two-legged tie later this month.

Addo, who is looking to secure his first win in the qualifiers after a 1-0 loss to Angola and a 1-1 draw with Niger, highlighted Appiah’s experience and the good work he has done with Sudan.

“I have so much of big respect for Kwesi Appiah, even more as a human being than what he has achieved for Ghana,” the 45-year-old gaffer said.

“And big, big respect for him, for what he’s done so far with the Sudan team. They are leading in their World Cup qualifiers in a group with Senegal, Guinea -Bissau and Togo.

“I mean, there’s no way we will underrate them. They are very, very good,” he added.

The first leg of the AFCON qualifier will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10, with the return match scheduled for October 15 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Sudan.

The Black Stars will open camp in Accra on Monday, October 7.
