The Krontihene of Adansi Dompoase, Kitikyie Bosompim Apenteng has donated GH₵5,000 and 50 bags of cement towards the rehabilitation of the Obuasi Pomposo R/C Primary B which was gutted by fire.
Speaking to Adom News at the school in the Obuasi East District of the Ashanti region, the Krontihene said he was traumatized over the incident, hence his support.
The District Education Director, Kwabena Owusu Nketia who received the donation on behalf of the school thanked the chief for the gesture.
The Director used the opportunity to appeal to the general public to come to the aid of the school so teaching and learning could resume.
Properties running into thousands of cedis were burnt in the incident which occurred on Wednesday.
The headmistress, Regina Okancy said their fridges, textbooks, computers, laptops, printers, TV sets among others donated by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation were all destroyed.
