Two people have been set ablaze in a room at Kasoa Adom Estate in the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central Region.
The victims who were trapped have been burnt beyond recognition.
The gruesome incident occurred at 2:00 am on Thursday.
The names of the deceased have been given as 22-year-old Kwabena Osei and 19-year-old Princess Anarley Ahiatey.
Although no arrest has been made, a CCTV camera in front of a container shop captured three young men committing the crime.
The reason behind their action is however yet to be established.
However, preliminary information gathered by Adom News suggest Kwabena is a scammer and normally uses Princess to chat with his clients at night.
On Wednesday, Kwabena invited her to his house to embark on their usual operation.
Princess’ mother, Mama Felicia, has told Adom News that her daughter informed her about Kwabena’s invitation but the mother said she advised her not to go.
She is therefore surprised as to when Princess left the house and met her untimely death.
“I tried to stop my daughter from going to see Kwabena Osei but she never listened to her,” the heartbroken mother wept.
Meanwhile, Kwabena’s mother, Sister Esi also said she never knew her son had a female friend until their death.
Meanwhile, the Awutu Senya East Municipal NADMO Director, Kwame Amoah has called on the Ghana Police Service to work hard and arrest the suspects who have been captured on the CCTV camera.
