The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) in the Greater Accra Region has kicked off its 25th-anniversary celebrations.
The celebration is being held under the theme “The Emergence of NAGRAT: The Beginning of Empowering, Inspiring, and Liberating the Ghanaian Teacher.”
This milestone marks a quarter-century of NAGRAT’s tireless efforts to promote the welfare and interests of Ghanaian teachers.
At the launch, Greater Accra Region Chairman, Henry Teitey Tetteh Afi emphasized NAGRAT’s pivotal role in transforming the education sector.
“Without NAGRAT, nothing significant has happened to the Ghanaian teacher,” he asserted, highlighting the organization’s instrumental role in driving positive change.”
Mr. Afi noted that, every beneficial change in the education sector has been a direct result of NAGRAT’s actions, demonstrating the organization’s unwavering commitment to its members.
He proudly declared that, NAGRAT is not timid in its pursuit of justice and equality for teachers.
GES Council Secretary, Aaron Adarkwa who chaired the event, urged NAGRAT to prioritize research-driven approaches to inform their demands and decision-making.
He also encouraged teachers to familiarize themselves with their code of conduct and scheme of service.
Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga North and guest of honor, Simon Sekyim charged teachers participating in the December 7 elections to uphold transparency and ensure peace.
