Chief of Lafah in Weija Gbawe Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Ayi Okofuobour has criticised the Democracy Hub protest against illegal mining popularly known as galamsey.
According to the chief, there is no community in Accra with galamsey activities taking place.
He has therefore charged the protesters to direct their action towards chiefs, Regional Ministers and MMDCES in whose communities galamsey is causing devastation.
In an Interview with Adom News, Nii Okofuobour condemned the protesters for causing unnecessary traffic and destroying properties during their demonstration.
Nii Ayi Okofuobour called on the police to continue to deal with them to serve as deterrent to others.
He further called on Ghanaians not to politicise the fight against galamsey else the real culprits will use that as an opportunity to continue the destruction.
