A video circulating on social media shows Chairman Wontumi urging Ghanaian youth to vote for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, if they want high-paying jobs.
According to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Dr. Bawumia has promised to provide graduates with job opportunities offering a base salary of GH₵ 8,000 if elected as president-elect on December 7, 2024.
He further stated that, student loans would be streamlined to allow graduates to repay them in instalments with the use of a Ghana card.
“Bawumia said if you vote for him, and he becomes president, you can use your Ghana card to apply to any university, and once you graduate, there will be a job waiting for you with a salary of GH₵8,000. The loans given to you will also have a flexible repayment plan in instalments,” Chairman Wontumi said.
