Clad in red and black attire, they blocked the roads with tyres, logs, wooden boxes, among others, causing traffic which left commuters stranded.

They wielded placards some of whose inscriptions read; What have we done wrong, President Nana Addo we beg you, among others.

In an interview with Accra-based Citi News, the irate residents lamented that more than 10 people have lost their lives under avoidable circumstances on the stretch.
According to them, construction began in 2019 and it is still not completed.
The Assembly members from Ada, Aboabo, Magazine and Nkurakan who led the protesters alongside the Adukrom Akwadum chief, Nana Asiedu Oduro have issued a two-week ultimatum to the government to ensure work resumes on the road.
