Chairperson of a Parliamentary Select Committee for Sports, Culture and Tourism, Wisdom Kobena Woyome, has described Mustapha Ussif as the worst performing Sports Minister.
The sector minister on Tuesday, September 24 appeared before the Parliament Select Committee on Sports to address what led to Black Stars’ poor performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, where the team suffered a group stage elimination.
Quizzed if he is the worst Sports Minister, he said, “What I intend to disagree with you, your statement that I am the worst as a Minister, I’m the worst as a performer in terms of numbers, I don’t know which numbers you are talking about so you should be able to tell me what numbers, the data you are using to determine (that) during my time it is the worst.”
However, Kobena Woyome, who is a Member of Parliament for South Tongu speaking in an interview said, Ussif, who is also the Member of Parliament for Yagaba-Kubori is the worst performing Sports Minister.
“I agree in the sense that his performance is so abysmal,” he told MAX FM.
“I mean, we have not recorded such low points in our football and that we are also getting lots of bad names. That is why our rankings have become so low on the FIFA rankings. And so if nothing is bad, what about this one?” he quizzed.
