CAF CL: FC Samartex President eulogizes players despite elimination

-

FC Samartex President, Dr Richard Nsenkyire, has commended his team for their effort despite their exit from the CAF Champions League.

The Ghanaian club was knocked out of the prestigious tournament following a 4-2 aggregate defeat.

After a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium, Samartex fell 2-0 in the second leg in Morocco.

Speaking after the match, Dr Nsenkyire praised the players for their hard work and urged them to treat the experience as a valuable lesson for future competitions.

“It was a tough game, and although we lost, I know you gave it your all. In football, it’s either you win, lose, or draw, and unfortunately, we didn’t make it this time. But all is not lost,” he said.

Despite the early exit, Dr Nsenkyire remains hopeful for the future, encouraging the team to focus on improving for the next season.

“It’s our first time in this competition, and I believe we will learn from our mistakes and come back stronger. If we win the league again, we will have gained the experience to be more competitive,” he added.

With their CAF campaign over, Samartex will now turn their attention back to the Ghana Premier League, where they still have two crucial matches against Bibiani Gold Stars and Medeama SC to defend their title.

Raja Casablanca’s Marouane Zila and Naoufel Zerhouni scored the goals that secured the Moroccan side’s victory, ending Samartex’s continental hopes for the season.
