Have the ability to stomach nonsense – Ponkoh to Kofi Adams

-

A former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu-Juaben, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh has urged the National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams to develop the ability to stomach ‘nonsense’.

This, the NDC active member speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Friday said is the only means through which Kofi Adams can survive and perform in his role as a National Organiser of the party.

Kofi Adams and Yamoah Ponkoh has been at each other’s throat since the NDC suffered a massive defeat in the 2016 elections.

Ponkoh, apart from claiming he is more useful than Kofi Adams in the NDC party has called for the ‘hanging’ of the man who acted as the campaign coordinator of the NDC 2016 camapign.

“I can state categorically that I’m more useful than Kofi Adams…I would have performed better than him if I was placed in the same position as him. Looking closely at myself, I can say that Kofi Adams is no match,” he said on Adom FM’s Morning Show this week.

The comments of Mr Ponkoh did not go down well with the spokesperson of former President Jerry John Rawlings who responded that he was not interested in responding to ‘fools’.

He said those who recommended Mr Ponkoh for the MCE position in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality made a mistake as according to him, Mr Ponkoh did not deserve to be appointed as MCE, hence his inability to secure the confirmation of the assembly members in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality when he was reappointed for the second time by President John Dramani Mahama.

Kofi Adams described Mr Ponkoh’s appointment was part of the “unfortunate appointments” the NDC party made while in power.

This comment of Kofi Adams did not please Yamoah Ponkoh who insist that he hasn’t been shocked by the harsh reaction ‘because I never insulted Kofi Adams, I only criticized his work and not his personality’.

The attacks from Kofi Adams notwithstanding, Mr Ponkoh added he was not interested in responding in like manner as according to him, ‘prominent Ghanaians have advised me not to respond agaain’.

“Because of the admonitions from persons of substance and other prominent Ghanaians, I won’t respond to him in like manner…I promised the people who called me that there is no way I will respond to him again and I won’t,” he stated.

He therefore had the following advice for the former Deputy Secretary of the NDC whose job it was to see that President Mahama was retained as the President of the nation.

“I am appealing to my brother, Kofi Adams to end the insults and rather have a big belly to stomach criticisms and nonsense…,” he said.
