The first day of the much-anticipated demonstration by Democracy Hub took a different turn as participants resorted to playing football.
The protesters gathered at the 37 roundabout to march to the Revolutionary Square opposite Jubilee House.
The demonstration was to intensify pressure on government to deal with the galamsey crisis.
However, the Police blocked the road leading to the Jubilee House, cutting the journey of the protesters short.
Several hours of peaceful attempts to persuade the police proved futile following concerns over public order and peace.
In order not to waste their time for the demonstration, some protesters gathered to play football at the 37 Military Hospital roundabout.
