Hezbollah has fired dozens of rockets into Israel – the group says it is targeting Israeli military sites. The IDF says 140 missiles were fired at Israel.

Meanwhile, Israel’s military says it has launched fresh strikes in southern Lebanon.

It comes after Israel carried out extensive air strikes in southern Lebanon targeting Hezbollah rocket launchers.

Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah, has vowed to inflict retribution after explosions of communication devices used by the group killed more than 30 people and injured thousands earlier this week.

The UN Security Council will discuss the crisis later on Friday.
