The Ghana Police Service has provided guidelines and rules to ensure that the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s planned nationwide demonstration against the Electoral Commission (EC) is smooth and successful.
The Police has urged the participants to stick to the designated routes, emphasising the need for peaceful and lawful conduct.
At a press conference on Monday, the police pointed out that, effective collaboration with stakeholders was important to ensure public safety.
Participants have therefore been urged to desist from violence or property destruction.
The protest scheduled for Tuesday, September 17 is to press on the EC to to audit the voter register ahead of the December election.
Meanwhile, the Police has cautioned against destruction to property which may lead to surcharges as security personnel will be deployed across all demonstration routes to maintain order.
