CAF CL prelims: FC Samartex coach reveals game plan ahead of Raja Club Athletic tie Morocco

-

FC Samartex coach, Nurudeen Amadu has vowed that his team will battle to win against Raja Club Athletic in the second leg of the CAF Champions League second-round preliminary stage.

The Ghana Premier League side settled for a 2-2 draw with the Moroccan team in the first leg on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Speaking after the match, Amadu shared his mixed feelings, praising his players for putting up a strong fight but expressing frustration over missed opportunities that could have secured a win.

“I’m not a happy person but I think we didn’t disgrace ourselves. It’s like the equalizer during the second half we just dished it out to them and we didn’t defend well in that situation. We were wasteful in front of the goal and that cost us,” Nurudeen Amadu said.

Looking ahead to the return leg, he added, “We are aware when you make minor mistakes, they punish you for it. Now we are going to fight because I have seen how they play and so I will also see how to strategize to go there.

“We will see how we will be resilient and so that we can go and fight them there,” Amadu added.

FC Samartex, in their debut appearance in the CAF Champions League, are determined to progress to the group stage.
