All you need to know as National Service Authority releases 2024/2025 postings [Listen]

-

The National Service Authority (NSA) has deployed 106,223 service personnel for the 2024/2025 national service year.

These individuals are required to complete their validation and registration at designated regional centers across the country, a process that begins on September 12, 2024, and will run until September 30, 2024.

The service itself is set to commence on October 1, 2024.

The Director of Corporate Affairs at the NSA, Armstrong Essah, explained during an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show that the registration process has been made simple and efficient.

He reassured personnel that they will not spend more than 30 minutes at the centers, adding that the NSA website will provide each service member with their specific date and time for registration.

Addressing concerns about illegal practices surrounding service postings, Mr. Essah issued a strong warning against those attempting to influence postings through bribery, commonly known as “special postings.”

He made it clear that, “It is illegal for anybody to pay money to influence posting. The service, or the posting, doesn’t come at a fee. Paying someone to secure a specific posting or accepting money to influence a posting is unlawful, and both parties will be held accountable.”

He also spoke about reposting, a topic of much debate among service personnel.

According to Mr. Essah, the NSA does not encourage reposting as they want young people to explore new opportunities and contribute to national development.

However, he mentioned that special cases, such as pregnant women, may be considered for reposting.

“Paying money for reposting is illegal,” he added, urging the youth to embrace the adventure and experience that comes with the national service.

Mr. Essah encouraged all personnel to take advantage of the registration window, stressing the importance of completing the process within the designated period.

He therefore expressed optimism about the smoothness of the process so far, noting that it has been encouraging since it opened.
