The incumbent Member of Parliament for Agona West, Cynthia Morrison, has described Christopher Arthur, the new parliamentary candidate for the constituency, as her “son.”
She recounted how she helped him secure a job at the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in 2018 to buttress her point.
Madam Morrison disclosed in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem that, upon learning of his intention to contest against her, she confronted him, but he denied it
“When I heard that he was planning to contest against me, I confronted him, and he denied it. It’s not just the fact that he’s contesting me; it’s the lies he is spreading that are troubling” she said.
The livid MP said the party owes her money and she will collect it before they decide her future.
“They owe me 250,000 cedis for the election. I am waiting for my money. I will take that money. I gave some out and will collect the rest. I am not trying to disgrace them, but I have to state that they owe me” she stressed.
Madam Morrison’s comments come after her loss in the NPP parliamentary primaries on April 13, where she received 152 votes, while Christopher Arthur secured 240 votes to become the party’s parliamentary candidate.
