The flagbearers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Mahama and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will file their nominations for the 2024 election today, September 9, 2024.
Dr Bawumia and his running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh will be the first to visit the Electoral Commission’s (EC) office at 9 am.
Some leaders and members of the NPP will accompany the duo.
In a Facebook post, Dr Bawumia announced the filing will be followed by a public address at the NPP’s headquarters.
For former President Mahama, the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia will file on his behalf at 2pm.
“The submission of the forms by our National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, represents a pivotal step in our campaign for change on December 7.
“We are all in this together, working with Ghanaians to RESET Ghana’s economy and ‘Build the Ghana we want together,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
