He mentioned that, while nomination forms are available to all, the exact number of independent candidates will only be known after a thorough evaluation process and the closure of nominations.

During an interview on Adom FM’s Burning Issues, Benjamin Bano Bio shared the EC’s preparations for the 2024 general elections.

“We haven’t started our training yet, but we have completed the recruitment. About 26 or 27 individuals have obtained the nomination forms as independent candidates” he stated.

Bano Bio explained that, the forms are open to everyone, and the actual number of independent candidates will be determined after they have completed the necessary processes and have been officially nominated.

Addressing the National Democratic Congress’ request for a forensic audit of the voter register, Mr. Bano Bio emphasized that their electoral processes are transparent and do not require any audit.

“Our objective is to conduct a peaceful and fair election, and we will not tolerate anything that could jeopardize this goal. All our electoral activities are highly transparent and do not necessitate a forensic audit,” he stated.
