Veteran sports analyst, Owusu Bempah believes Black Stars coach, Otto Addo and the technical team should have sought medical attention after the car accident.
The technical team was in a serious car accident on their way back to Accra after attending the Champion of Champions match between FC Samartex and Nsoatreman FC at the T&N Park on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
Photos of the incident show significant damage to their vehicle, though fortunately, none of the team members were injured.
Speaking on Asempa FM‘s Ultimate Sports Show on Monday, September 2, Owusu Bempah said Otto Addo, John Paintsil, and Fatawu Dauda should have visited the nearest hospital before flying back to Accra.
In his view, their health should have been their numbero ne priority before returning to Accra.
Mr. Owusu Bempah emphasized that, failing to seek immediate medical care could have future repercussions on their health.
Despite the accident, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has assured that Otto Addo and his technical team will be ready for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
The team has already arrived at camp and is preparing for their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium before departing for Kumasi on Tuesday.
Ghana is set to host Angola on September 5 at Baba Yara Stadium, followed by a match against Niger in Berkane on September 9, both part of the Group F qualifiers.
