The wife of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) vice-presidential candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), Alma Naa Jama Opoku Prempeh, has launched her political campaign in the Odododiodoo Constituency, beginning with a visit to her maternal family home to seek their support.

Accompanied by notable figures including Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Kwartei Titus- Glover, as well as Regional and Constituency NPP executives, Mrs. Opoku Prempeh sought the blessings of her family elders to formally start her campaign.

The visit featured traditional rites, heartfelt interactions with her family, and enthusiastic chants of endorsement from party supporters who gathered for the event.

During the visit, Alma’s maternal family head, Nii Agyir Banor, invoked the ancestors’ blessings, asking for their guidance and protection as Mrs. Opoku Prempeh embarks on her campaign.

He stressed the need for unity, urging all family members to support her wholeheartedly.

Nii Banor expressed pride in her achievements and commitment, praising her loyalty, compassion, and leadership qualities, which have contributed to her role as a supportive partner to Dr. Opoku Prempeh.

He encouraged her to continue collaborating with her husband, a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics and public service. He reminded her that their collective effort would not only aid the NPP’s success in the upcoming elections but also bring honor to the family.

After the ceremony, Greater Accra Regional Minister Nii Kwartei Titus Glover expressed the Ga-Adangbe community’s excitement about having one of their own potentially become the Second Lady of Ghana.

“She is one of us, and we are proud to have her here. I pray for her success and especially for the success of the Bawumia-NAPO ticket,” he said.
