Ghanaian spoken word artist and poet, Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr., has submitted his second album, ‘Wonder’, for nomination consideration at the 67th GRAMMY Awards.

The eleven-track album features contributions from veteran actor David Dontoh, U.K.-based multi-disciplinary artist T. Monterisi (T./MO), Yaw Stone, and Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong (The Soulman).

The call for submission of eligible works is open from July 17, 2024, to August 30, 2024, with the eligibility window spanning from September 16, 2023, to August 30, 2024. This means that all records released within this period that meet specific category criteria are qualified for nomination consideration.

According to the Recording Academy, only registered media companies and Recording Academy members (voting and professional) can make submissions for GRAMMY consideration.

This marks the second time the avid writer and recording artist is submitting his work for consideration.

In September 2022, his debut album, ‘Ponder’, was considered for nomination at the 65th GRAMMY Awards. It was among the first body of works to be considered in the newly created Spoken Word Poetry Album of the Year category.

Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. is an award-winning writer, spoken word artist, and poet, having won the Ghana Association of Writers’ Literary Awards three times.

In 2023, he set a record as the first spoken word artist and poet to win all three positions, first, second, and third—in the same category, the Kofi Anyidoho Spoken Word category. Nominations will be announced on November 8, 2024.
