Jomoro MP survives near-fatal accident on Takoradi-Cape Coast Highway

-

The Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, and her entourage narrowly escaped a serious accident at Komenda Junction on the Takoradi-Cape Coast-Accra Highway.

The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday, August 29, 2024.

The accident occurred as the MP and her team were returning to Accra after launching her campaign at Half Assini over the weekend.

According to eyewitnesses, around 5:05 a.m., Madam Affo-Toffey’s Ford Raptor was almost involved in a catastrophic collision when a heavy truck attempted to overtake another truck.

One of the truck drivers, seemingly dozing off, lost control of his vehicle, forcing the MP’s driver to swerve off the road and into a nearby bush to avoid a head-on collision.

Madam Affo-Toffey and the three other occupants in the vehicle were immediately rushed to the hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

While the vehicle sustained damage, all four occupants are reported to be in stable condition.
