New Patriotic Party (NPP) Cape Coast North Parliamentary candidate, Horace Ekow Ewusi, has strongly denied allegations of orchestrating the destruction of campaign materials belonging to the incumbent Member of Parliament, Dr Kwamena Minta Nyarku.
In an interview on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem, Thursday, Ekow Ewusi said he has nothing to do with the destruction which Dr Nyarku says include 16 billboards and about 25,000 posters.
He indicated that, he has no reason to launch such an attack on the MP, who is also his contender in the December 7 parliamentary election.
According to him, his 15 billboards and 800 posters have also been destroyed by unknown persons.
“I have already won the election so why would I do this? Why would he even lie that he has 25,000 posters? Will the posters of the presidential candidate nationwide even reach 25,000?
“I reached out to him that we should address and concern the act of vandalism and if we did, the issues wouldn’t have escalated to this point,” he stated.
The NPP PC further condemned the vandalism, adding he will not hesitate to hand over anybody caught destroying campaign materials for prosecution irrespective of their political affiliation.
