Samira Bawumia, the wife of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed confidence that her husband will be sworn in as the first Muslim President of Ghana on January 7, 2025.

She noted that Vice President Dr. Bawumia’s achievement, as the 2024 flagbearer, would mark a significant milestone in the country’s political history.

Hajia Samira highlighted that the NPP selected her husband as their flagbearer because of his integrity, humility, hard work, and proven track record.

She emphasized that Dr. Bawumia is fully prepared to serve the nation with integrity and humility.

The Second Lady made these remarks while addressing the chiefs and people of Wenchi during a large rally, as part of her campaign tour in the Bono Region, as the 2024 elections approach.

She asserted that the choice of Dr. Bawumia as the NPP’s Presidential candidate dispels the misconception that the party is solely Akan-based.

She expressed confidence that her husband has the ability to transform the nation if elected.

Hajia Samira also emphasized the NPP’s commitment to the welfare of Muslims and the development of Muslim communities.

She urged voters, especially those in the Zongo communities, to support the NPP and give Dr. Bawumia the opportunity to take the nation to new heights.

She said Dr. Bawumia is deeply committed to youth and women empowerment, promising that under his leadership, more jobs and opportunities would be created for them.

The Second Lady was accompanied by Justina Owusu-Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister, and Mr. Kwame Baffo, the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP.
