I feel good to return as Black Stars coach – Otto Addo

-

Black Stars coach, Otto Addo has expressed his excitement following his recent reappointment.

The former Borussia Dortmund assistant coach, who led Ghana to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, was reappointed in March this year on a 34-month contract with an option for an additional 24 months.

In an interview, the 45-year-old shared his joy at returning to the role.

“It’s a great feeling! I knew most of the players from the last World Cup, but it’s also exciting to see new Ghanaian talents emerging,” he told FIFA media.

“It’s been interesting working with them, so it’s been a positive experience,” he added.

Since his reappointment, Otto Addo has secured two wins in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with victories against Mali and the Central African Republic (CAR).

The Black Stars are set to return to action in September for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches.

They will face Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium before traveling to Niger for their Group F encounters.
