Mohammed Kudus excels as West Ham win first PL game at Crystal Palace

-

Ghana striker, Mohammed Kudus played a pivotal role in West Ham United’s away victory against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

The Hammers had a tough start to their 2024/25 Premier League campaign, having lost 2-1 at home to Aston Villa the previous weekend.

Despite the disappointing result, head coach, Julen Lopetegui opted to include the 24-year-old Kudus in the starting lineup for the match at Selhurst Park.

After a scoreless first half, West Ham clinched a 2-0 victory with second-half goals from Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen.

Kudus was on the field for 88 minutes before being replaced by Jean-Clair Todibo. During his time in the game, Kudus had 35 touches, delivered two crosses—one of which found its target—completed six out of eight dribbles, and won nine of his 14 ground duels. However, he also lost possession nine times.

Kudus will aim to score his first goal of the season when West Ham hosts Bournemouth in the EFL Cup second round on Wednesday at the London Stadium, followed by a Premier League clash against Manchester City next weekend.
